Community Midwives

Patients who have their pregnancy confirmed are referred to the midwives by the doctor. The midwives team visits the practice every Thursday morning when they hold an ante natal clinic which includes booking for the confinement. To make an appointment, phone 536 2009. A leaflet giving more information on ante/post natal care is available from reception.

Community Nurses

RGN DN The district nurse is attached to the practice and is trained to give skilled care to patients in their own homes, when patients are unable to attend the practice. Messages for the district nurse can be left with reception staff on 667 2955.

Health Visitors

Telephone: 666 5171 The health visitor for the practice is based at Conan Doyle Medical Centre. She gives advice on health care, particularly for pregnant mothers and young children. She is also responsible for childhood immunisations. Baby Clinics are held at Mackenzie Medical Centre on Wednesday afternoons, 2:00 till 3:30pm  The best time to contact the health visitor is between 8.30 and 10.00 a.m. weekdays on telephone number 666 5171. You may leave a message on their answering machine.
